Arlene Dickinson

Arlene Dickinson (born 8 October 1956 in Germiston, South Africa) is a Canadian marketing professional and CEO of Venture Communications.

Dickinson joined Venture Communications in 1988, taking sole ownership in 1998. During her tenure she has taken the company from a local firm into one of Canada's largest independent marketing firms, with offices in Calgary, Toronto and Ottawa.

She has been recognized with several honours and awards including: Global Television Woman of Vision;[1] the Calgary Business Owner of the Year Award; PROFIT magazine’s TOP 100 Women Business Owners, 2001 to 2006;[2][2] a winner of the Pinnacle Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence;[3] Canada’s Most Powerful Women Top 100, 2003 to 2006;[4] Ad Rodeo’s Lifetime Achievement Award; and Marketing Magazine’s Power List. Venture has been recognized as one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies [5]

Dickinson is one of the venture capitalists on the Canadian version of Dragons' Den from season 2 onward.
